During your Naples Florida fishing charter you may catch Redfish, Snook, Tarpon, Snapper, Trout, and Pompano. Some interesting facts about these fish are described below.


Redfish

Water: Salt/Coastal Waters
Where: Offshore / Surf / Inshore / Rivers And Streams
Size: Most common from 1-12 pounds. Large fish are 30 pounds with the possibilty of up to 60 pounds.
Fight: Very strong and stubborn. Heavy runs are a "Reds" forte.
Food Quality: Excellent
Range: Very available in the Naples area

Snook

Water: Salt/Coastal Waters
Where: Surf / Inshore / Rivers And Streams
Size: Most common at 2-17 pounds. Large fish range from 20-30 pounds. Huge snook can reach upwards of 50 pounds.
Fight: Very strong and has endurance. Heavy runs and flashy jumping make the snook an excellent battle. Will seek stumps, pilings and roots to make landing even more a challenge.
Food Quality: Excellent
Range: Very available in the Naples area

Red Snapper

Water: Salt/Coastal Waters
Where: Offshore / Inshore
Size: Most common at a pound to 8 pounds. Large fish can reach 20 with the rare lunker weighing in at 30 or 40 pounds.
Fight: Strong, sharp runs with alot of underwater thrashing to throw the hook.
Food Quality: Excellent
Range: Very available in the Naples Area

Pompano

Water: Salt/ Coastal Waters
Where: Inshore or nearshore especially along sandy beaches, oyster beds and grass flats.
Size: Less than 5 pounds
Food Quality: Superb
Range: Very available in the Naples Area

Florida Pompano are schooling fish that are often found in the surf. They average 1-2 lbs, are highly regarded as a food fish. Florida pompano are said to bring the highest price per pound of any fish in the United States

Trout

Water: Salt/ Coastal Waters
Where: Inshore or nearshore especially along Points, jetties, sharp drop offs, transitional areas and near islands.
Size: Less than 3 pounds
Food Quality: Superb
Range: Very available in the Naples Area

Tarpon

Water: Salt/ Coastal Waters
Where: Inshore primarily. Larger tarpon can be off the beaches in the summer. They are often found rolling on the surface and gulping air in while lurking for food or taking it easy between feeding sessions.
Tarpon can often be found in brackish or freshwater near mangroves or in residential canals. Look for tarpon to show up almost anywhere on the lagoons and beaches in Florida,
Size: Tarpon are slow growers and mature between 7 to 13 years of age. Size can be 15 pounds to the record 243 pounds.
